Jonathan David McCracken
February 28, 1985 - April 6, 2019

Jonathan David McCracken, 34, of Tucson, Arizona passed away on Saturday, April 6, 2019 as a result of illness. He was born February 28, 1985 in Omaha, Nebraska, the son of Jerry Wade McCracken and Cynthia (Cindy) Jolinn McCracken.

Jon was homeschooled and graduated High School in 2003. As a “military brat”, he spent his childhood years constantly on the move – Nebraska, Germany, California, Hawaii, and Arizona. As a teenager he was a member of 4-H dog obedience training and played on a homeschool volleyball team. Jon went on to study Computer Sciences at Cochise College in Sierra Vista where he received an Associate of Arts degree and eventually graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Information from the University of Arizona in 2012. He enjoyed Lord of the Rings, Star Wars, Avengers, playing board games with friends for days on end, the ability to debate a variety of topics, and all things nerdy.

Jon is survived by his parents Jerry and Cindy McCracken of Sierra Vista, Arizona; brother Jason McCracken of Honolulu, Hawaii; sister Christen Bailey McCracken of Sierra Vista, Arizona; sister Amber Troester and her husband Nathan (Nate) of Vail, Arizona; brother Daniel (Dan) McCracken of Portland, Oregon ; as well as nieces and nephews Dorothy, Michael, and Seth McCracken; Kathryn and Samuel Troester; Ethan Bailey; maternal grandmother Beverly Mark of Hopewell, Virginia; and because McCrackens know how to multiply, he is survived by numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. He is also survived by his long term girlfriend Jinhee Sharp of Sierra Vista, AZ, whom he loved, as well as many, many close friends. Finally, he leaves behind two furr-babies, Stella and Peaches, whom he rescued from a Tucson animal shelter and adored.

Funeral arrangements are being handled by Hatfield Funeral Home of Sierra Vista. A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, April 13 at 10a.m. at the Church of the Nazarene, located at 1215 El Camino Real in Sierra Vista. Private interment will be held at Cochise Memory Gardens.
