May 7, 1947 - March 9, 2019

Raymond William Wineblad passed away March 9, 2019 at Canyon Vista Medical Center.

Raymond was born May 7, 1947 in Chicago Illinois.  He remained in Chicago until moving to Sierra Vista in 1999.  During his time in Chicago he had several careers including assistant athletic director at DePaul University.  During his tenure DePaul University was able to make it to the Final Four of the NCAA Basketball Tournament.  He also worked as an orthopedic physician assistant before going into medical sales at DePuy.  He left DePuy to come to Sierra Vista.

Raymond’s life experience left him with extensive knowledge in a variety of areas including business, education, medicine, college athletics.  He was known for his sense of humor and ability to elevate the mood of those around him, always seeking to elicit a smile or laugh.

Raymond is survived by his spouse William G. Elliott, sister Suzanne Schnelle, nieces and nephews Kevin Schnelle, Kristen Hosey, Robert Schnelle, Karen Morello, Jennifer Iverson, Amy Sachaschik, as well and many friends and family members across the country.  He is much loved and will be sorely missed.

A memorial ceremony to celebrate Raymond’s life will be held at Hatfield’s Funeral Home Friday March 15 at 3:30 pm.  Family and friends are invited to gather to celebrate and remember Raymond starting at 2:30 pm.

There are no words to express how greatly my family loved my uncle. We will miss him every hour of everyday. He will always be with us in our hearts. I miss you Uncle Ray and will cherish our memories together for the rest of my life. Until we meet again, Love you and hug gram b for me.
