Our extraordinary mother Verda Mary Rice passed away on Nov. 10, 2022, at the age of 92; she would have been 93 on November 27th. Mom had a heart as big as the ocean. She was loving, kind, generous, forgiving, intelligent, and beautiful inside and out.

She was predeceased by the love of her life for over 68 years—our father Richard H. Rice who died on June 25, 2018, and 11 of her siblings. She is survived by her twin sister Veda Misita, brother Gary Casey, son Rick Rice, three daughters Bonnie Rice Morrow, Bridget Madden, Kimberley Rice, six grandchildren, seven and a half great-grandchildren, and hundreds of extended family and friends. Mom was an amazing mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who was a talented seamstress, teacher, and baker. Mom was into healthy living before it was in vogue and dressed impeccably to the very end. She was a classy lady through and through.

Memorial services will be held on Monday, November 28, 2022, at 11:00 AM at Southern Arizona Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery located at 1300 S. Buffalo Soldier Trail, Sierra Vista, Arizona.
