Vera L. Sylvers passed away peacefully on November 6, 2024, surrounded by family. Vera was 87 years old. Vera was a kind, loving, and supportive person who will be greatly missed by many who knew and loved her. Her caring heart uplifted many whom she touched. Her gentle presence and gift for caring were among her many strengths that will be missed by loved ones and friends. Born February 6, 1937, to Louis and Vera Behrens. Vera grew up in Chico, California and graduated from Chico High School in 1955. Vera is survived by her husband Homer (69 years) and her daughter Patti and son Craig, both of Sierra Vista. She has three grandchildren, Chris (April) of Sierra Vista, AZ, Lance (Amber) of Tucson, AZ and Richard of Sierra Vista, AZ; and five great grandchildren, Brooke and Bree of Sierra Vista, and Andre, Asya and Adonis of Tucson, AZ as well as many extended family members and friends.

Vera was an active supporter of Sierra Vista Elks lodge No. 2065 and the Arizona Elks Association (AEA). Vera served as President of the Sierra Vista Elks Lodge #2065 Ladies Auxiliary in 1984-85 and as First Lady of the AEA in 2008-09. Vera Enjoyed Traveling with her husband over the years. Vera especially enjoyed going on cruises.

Vera was preceded in death by her parents Louis and Vera Behrens and Stepfather Earl Bacus, and sister Judith Ann.

A celebration of Life will be held at 2 p.m., November 23, 2024, at Sierra Vista Elks Lodge 2065, 1 Elks Lane, Sierra Vista, AZ. We will be sharing memories and anecdotes of Vera's life with family and friends.
