Theresa Pino Obituary

April 18, 1933 – September 14, 2025

Theresa "Terry" M. Pino, 92, of Sierra Vista, Arizona, passed away early Sunday morning, September 14, 2025, surrounded by her loved ones. Terry was born on April 18,1933, in Bismarck, North Dakota, to Admeria and Azarias Garceau. Her family moved to Utah where Terry graduated from Judge Memorial Catholic High School in Salt Lake City. During her senior year, Terry met the love of her life, Amedeo "Dick" Pino, and their union marked the beginning of a lifelong journey of both a devoted marriage and military service, traveling across the country and abroad.  As an Army officer's wife, Terry moved 32 times, creating a loving and welcoming home for her family. In the 1960's, she and Dick attended the Army Language School in Monterey, California, where she learned Spanish, a skill she was able to actively practice when the family lived in Bogota, Colombia. Theyeventually settled in Sierra Vista in 1972, a city where her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren grew up.  Terry loved her home and would often sit in her kitchen, gazing at the majestic Huachuca Mountains.

Terry enjoyed her weekly bowling league for many years, hosting parties, and following Arizona Wildcat sports, especially basketball. She and Dick rarely missed a home game and, with family in tow, traveled to numerous tournaments across the US, Maui, and the Bahamas. She was also a talented cook, and her children relished her delicious holiday dinners. These meals often ended in laughter, as jokes filled the air, and with Mom as the ringleader. Along with her infectious laugh, Terry will be remembered for her radiant smile, quick wit, and generous spirit; she never hesitated to give away something she loved if she thought it would make someone else happy. Terry also had a natural gift for fashion and interior design, holding an uncanny ability to transform any space into something both beautiful and functional. Terry was a passionate reader, often completing two novels a week, and her shelves are lined with many books for which she could never part.

Deeply devoted to her Catholic faith, Terry was a dedicated member of St. Andrew the Apostle Catholic Church in Sierra Vista and attended Mass every Sunday.  In her later years, Terry never missed online services, relishing the homilies of Father Gregg, a trusted spiritual adviser.

Terry leaves a legacy of love for family, and her memory will live on in the hearts of those she leaves behind. She is survived by her children, Richard (Mary), Cindy, and Michele, her grandchildren Chelsea and Richard "RJ" Thomas, Jr. (Sarah), and her great-grandchildren Amedeo "AJ"Jeffrey, Jr. and Luca James. Terry is preceded in death by her devoted husband of 70 years, Amedeo, as well as her son Jeffrey, her brothers Duane, Ovila, and her sister Leola.

A 10:00 AM Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, October 18th at St. Andrew the Apostle Catholic Church in Sierra Vista.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to the jeffpinofoundation.org, a foundation created to honor the legacy and continue the work of her son Jeff who encouraged young people to seek a career in the aviation industry.
