Teri Jean (Marshall) Meister

Teri Jean Meister (nee Marshall), beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and “fairy godmother,” passed away at age 68 on December 28, 2023.

Born in Glendale, California on the 9th of January 1955, Teri was the youngest of three children to John A. and Dorathy G. Marshall. Teri spent her early years in the greater Los Angeles area and was graduating class of ’72 at Eagle Rock High School.

Teri had a short career as a dental assistant and worked as housekeeping staff at the Hotel Stardust in Yuma, Arizona, before ultimately meeting the love of her life, SFC John C. Meister (deceased March 16, 2021), while working at a children’s crisis shelter in Yuma. The two were married July 8, 1980.

The “Army life” took their family to Alabama, Germany, New York, and back to Arizona, before settling in Huachuca City after John retired from the Army.

Being a loving and attentive homemaker, Teri cherished not only her own children and grandchildren, but again found happiness helping care for children in need at the Cochise County Children’s Center.

Her family and friends remember her as someone who always put the needs of others before herself. A lifetime friend to many, even more have enjoyed the special occasions and heartfelt gifts that brought Teri joy knowing those around her were happy in life.

She will be deeply missed.

Teri is survived by her children, Jason and Jennifer, and her grandchildren, Arianna and Anthony. Always in our hearts.

A service will be held at the Southern Arizona Memorial Veterans Cemetery on Friday the 26th of January 2024 at 12:00 pm followed by a reception at La Casita Restaurant. Please email jenflo2021@gmail.com with any planned attendance.
