Shawn Michael Schlaiss, 53, passed away on August 8,2025, in Whetstone, Arizona. Born on August 5, 1972,
in Chicago Illinois, Shawn was raised in Lake in The Hills, Illinois, and carried the warmth and character of his Midwestern roots throughout his life.

 Shawn is lovingly remembered by his Mother, Elizabeth Schlaiss, his son, Cody Schlaiss, his daughter,
Nicole Schlaiss, His brothers, Cory Schlaiss and Tommy Schlaiss, His grandchildren, Abigail Lynn, Audrey May, Allison Rose, Amelia Jane, Mason Gray, and Maisie Mae. He was a man who embraced life with boldness and curiosity, always ready for the next adventure.

His passions reflected his adventurous spirit - from traveling, to off-roading in his Jeep, from building and customizing things with his own hands to cheering for his beloved Chicago Bears and Sunday NASCAR races, Shawn was a risk-taker at heart, living life on his own terms and inspiring those around him to do the same.

His family and friends will remember him for his vibrant energy, fearless approach to life, and the countless memories he created along the way.

A celebration of Shawn's life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that friends honor Shawn by taking an adventure, big or small, in his memory.
