SFC Donald Ray Rodgers
United States Army, retired
July 10, 1936 - March 13, 2025
Donald Ray Rodgers, 88, passed away at home, on March 13, 2025, while holding his loving wife hand Cindy of 41 years. Don was born July 10, 1936, to Davis R. and Pauline K. Rodgers in Mansfield, Arkansas. Don spent 20 years in the Army and 33 Civil Services and retired in Hereford, AZ. His happiest time was spent with family and friends. He enjoyed working with his hands, fishing, hunting and making memories with everyone. Don had a heart of gold even when his heart wasn't working right in the body. Over the few months he had a good relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ and made sure the Lord Jesus Christ was part of his life.
"God Saw You" God saw you getting tired, and a cure was not to be, so He put His arms around you and whispered, "Come to Me." With tearful eyes I watched you, and saw you pass away. And though I loved you dearly, I could not make you stay. Your golden heart stopped beating; your beautiful smile was put to rest. It broke my heart, but God knew best.
He survived by his loving and devoted wife, Cindy, Son, Bryan and wife Carla, 2 daughters Terry and Janice, Sister and brother-in-law Margaret and Vern Reynolds. Many nephews and niece and grandkids and great grandkids and great, great grandkids. His sister in-law/ brother in-law from his wife side of the family. His 2 friends Joe & Emma and all the guys from the 96R compound.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Davis R. and Pauline K. Rodgers, Brother, Bob, Twin Sister Kay, Brother in-law Ed, Jerry, Dan, Tom, Hershel, Sister in-law Linda.
Our time is short on earth, but heaven is waiting for us. John 3:16: God so love the world that he gave his only begotten Son, so that whoever believes and trusts in him will not perish but have eternal life.
A time of visitation will be held on Monday, March 24, 2025 from 08:30 AM - 10:00 AM at the Hatfield Funeral Home, 830 S. Hwy 92. Funeral services with military honors will begin at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow services at Cochise Memory Gardens.
