SFC Bruce Allen Craig

May 19, 1959 - April 25, 2025
Bruce Allen Craig, age 65, passed away peacefully on April 25, 2025, at the Veteran’s Hospital in Tucson, AZ from Alzheimer’s. He was born on May 19, 1959, in Prince William County VA to William J. and Janice E. Craig.
He attended Damascus High school in Damascus MD and enlisted in the Army on Nov 21, 1977. He worked as a Field Artillery Surveyor and an Information Technology Specialist. Sergeant First Class Bruce Craig retired November 30, 1999, from Fort Huachuca AZ; during his service he was awarded two Meritorious Service Medals and several Commendation Medals. Bruce, a 26-year resident of Sierra Vista, worked for ManTech, General Dynamics, and as a Department of the Army Civilian for the Network Enterprise Center and NETCOM medically retiring in 2021. An active member of the Knights of Columbus Council 10799 Our Lady of the Mountain Parish, and Fourth Degree Assembly 2058, St Francis of Assisi. He enjoyed playing golf and taking long walks.
Bruce is survived by his loving wife of 18 years, Myong Craig (Choe); brothers Carl Craig, (Santa), Frank Craig, of Laughlin NV, sister Lynn (Craig) Shoemaker of Phoenix AZ, sister Paula (Craig) Johnson, (Steve) of Elberta AL; nieces Angela (Craig) Kolb, Sally Shoemaker and nephew John Craig, (Stephanie). He was preceded in death by his parents.
The family thanks the doctors, nurses, and social workers, at the Veteran’s Hospital; and especially the staff of VA Hospice who provided loving and compassionate care in Bruce’s last days.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Holy Family Catholic Church 2382 Smith Ave, Building 52060, Fort Huachuca, AZ. on May 8, 2025, Rosary at 9:00, followed by a Funeral Mass at 9:30. Military Honors rendered at 11:00 at the Southern Arizona Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery, 1300 South Buffalo Soldier Trail. A reception at Holy Family Catholic Church will follow the military honors. For those attending services or the reception on Fort Huachuca a visitor’s pass is required and can be obtained at the Van Denman Gate Visitor Center.
