Ruby "Darlene" Whicker, passed away in Tucson, AZ on Friday, January 26, 2024. She was born on March 9, 1930 in Ada, MN, to the late Guy and Alpha (Chandler) Smith.

Darlene enjoyed watching her soap operas, for many years.  She loved to play cards, laughing, and spending time with her family. While living in Iowa, she became a licensed babysitter and enjoyed taking care of a few children while their parents went off to work.

Ruby is survived by her husband of 24 years, Robert "Bob" Grable of Tucson; daughter Donna (Donald) Owen of Sierra Vista; son, Dean Whicker of Tucson; granddaughter, Jennifer Whicker of Tucson; great granddaughter, Taylor Charlton of Tucson; Sister-in-Law, Sherri (Terry) Lightner of Bettendorf, IA;  Sister-in-Law, Mary Whicker of Sierra Vista, AZ; and several nieces and nephews.

She is proceeded in death by her first husband, Jerry Whicker; parents, Guy and Alpha Smith; brothers, Gale (Bessie) Smith; DeWayne (Marvel) Smith; Vearl (Ardis) Smith; Lyle (Grace) Smith; Alvin (Janice) Smith; and Vernon (Esther) Smith; Sister and Brother-in-Law, Adrena and Larry Lyon; and Brother-in-Law, Dennis Whicker.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, February 2, 2024 at the Cochise Memory Gardens, located off of Charleston Road, in Sierra Vista, at
