Rosalia E. Iglesias (Skinner)
September 20, 1930 – May 28, 2026
Rosalia Iglesias, whom many knew as “Rosa, or “Abuela,” lived her life as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and faithful servant of God, received her eternal reward in heaven on May 28th, 2026, at the age of 95.
Born on September 20, 1930, in Panama City, Panama, Rosa lived a life defined by faith and family. Rosa was married to her husband, Antonio, with whom she moved to the United States with their children from Panama in 1979. Rosa supported her husband, who served in several artillery units in the United States and in Panama. She was proud to move to the United States, often speaking of her gratitude for the opportunity to live in a prosperous country, where she and Antonio dedicated their lives to raising a family rooted in love and resilience.
Rosa dedicated her life to caring for others. As a homemaker, she lovingly raised her children and opened her home to care for babies and school-aged children over the years. Her nurturing spirit and her love for Panamanian cooking and salsa music left a lasting impression and a full stomach for all who entered her home. Family was the center of her life, and she found her greatest joy in caring for her husband, children, and grandchildren, while celebrating her culture during family gatherings and watching her family grow across generations.
A woman of deep faith, Rosa’s and her family attended the Fort Huachuca, Main Post Chapel, where she faithfully participated in the Rosary Maker Guild, and she dedicated her time and talents to serving the Church and helping to spread devotion by making and distributing rosaries. Her faith remained a constant source of strength throughout her life.
Rosa survives by her five children, Jose Guerra (Berta), Luis Guerra, Raul Guerra (Kenia) Antonio Iglesias Jr., and Alexis Iglesias Sr. (Krisha). Rosa is also survived by grandchildren, Raul Guerra Jr., Dayanara Guerra, Gianna Guerra, Josecito Guerra, Omayra Guerra, Jessica Guerra, Yudelka Guerra, Luis Guerra Jr., Antonio Iglesias III, Angelique Iglesias, Mateo Iglesias, Daniel Jackson, Alexis Iglesias Jr., Diego Iglesias, Kaila Iglesias, and Benicio Iglesias. Rosa is also survived by great-grandchildren Carlos Iglesias-Romero, Alyiana Iglesias-Contreras and Milania Iglesias.
Rosa's legacy lives on through the family she loved so dearly and the countless lives she touched through her generosity, faith in Christ, and her unwavering love. She taught by example the importance of devotion to family, always focusing on the responsibility we owe to caring for our children. Though she will be deeply missed, her spirit remains present in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to all who visited Rosa, offering prayers, support, and kindness during this difficult time.
A graveside service celebrating Rosalia's life will be held on June 12, 2026, at 12:00 p.m. at Southern Arizona Veterans Memorial Cemetery, where she will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband, Antonio.
“Well done, good and faithful servant." — Matthew 25:23
