Rosa Jacinto Obituary

Rosa Velia Jacinto

February 5, 1932 - September 23, 2024

Our beloved Rosa Velia Jacinto, 92, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family at home in Las Vegas, Nevada. Born on February 5, 1932, to the late Fidencio and Francisca Flores, Rosa was the middle daughter among eight siblings: Jorge, Ernesto, Eduardo, Roberto, Armida, Irma, and Rodolfo. Raised in Douglas, Arizona, Rosa graduated from Douglas High School in 1951. She enjoyed a fulfilling career, working for various businesses, including The Grand Theater, Phelps Dodge, Sears & Roebuck, Mann & Reidy Accountants, and Valley National Bank in Douglas/Sierra Vista, from which she retired.  In 1966, she married Joe Jacinto, and in 1976, the family relocated to Sierra Vista, where they spent 41 wonderful years together raising their children.

Rosa was deeply devoted to her faith and community, volunteering at Sierra Vista Middle School, St. Andrew's Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus, and Our Lady of the Mountains School. She cherished her family vacations, camping trips, traveled extensively with her bowling leagues, and was an avid Bingo player. A beloved figure in her neighborhood, she hosted many gatherings on La Rosa Court. Recently, Rosa found immense joy in watching her great-grandchildren grow, teaching Annalicia to make her famous beans, playing ball and watching game shows with Manny, and enjoying Aurora's FaceTime stories. Her legacy of kindness, compassion, and unwavering love will be cherished by all who knew her.

Rosa is survived by her husband, Joe Jacinto; her children: Ana (John), Eddie, Lupe (Angel), and Victor; her grandchildren: Alyssa, Jason, and Joseph; her great-grandchildren: Manny, Annalicia, and Aurora; as well as numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews, Lorena, Elda, Raul, Alfred, Jo, Raenay, Dee Dee, Jorge “Memo", Robert “Chubby", Louie, Edna, Elda, Marty, Hector, Rene, Gloria, Ana, Margarita, Javier, Richard, Isabel, Alvina, Joey, Alex, Cynthia, Robert, Jaime, and Diana, who lovingly called her “Ninie."

Her memory will forever remain in our hearts, a testament to a life well-lived and a love that will never fade.
