Roger Dennis Reese
March 30, 1947 ~ November 15, 2025
Roger Dennis Reese, 78, of Hereford, Arizona passed away in Tucson, Arizona on Saturday, November 15, 2025.
Roger was born on March 30, 1947 in San Pedro, California.
Preceded in death by his wife Ruth, parents Pete and Marie Reese. Survived by daughter: Betsy (Shane and Dani) sons: Stewart and Brett. Sister: Lynn and Brother in law: Jon.
Roger spent his childhood growing up in Sonoita, Arizona and went to school in Elgin, Arizona in the 1950's. In 1960 the family moved to Sierra Vista where he graduated in 1966 from Buena High School.
He was always proud of the fact that his grandfather had been stationed at Fort Huachuca during World War I with the 17th calvary.
After attending Cochise College on a baseball scholarship he started working for Sands Ranch where he worked several years. Moving on to construction work in Tucson, Las Vegas, Alaska and Hawaii. He returned to Sierra Vista to work for Slim Gregan. Next was working on Fort Huachuca carpentry shop for over twenty years. His career than turned to the Tanker Base on Fort Huachuca for the US Forestry Department. Finally retirement.
He loved riding horses with his best friend Tom McCann who he met in sixth grade. His true passion was a cowboy. Roger knew almost all the history of Cochise County ranching
