Robert “Bob” Daval Gregory, age 77, passed from this world into his eternal resting place with his Lord and Savior on November 20, 2023, in Sierra Vista, AZ. Bob was born at Camp Polk, LA to Walter Gregory Sr. and Dolores (Jones) Gregory on October 2, 1946. He was a “military brat” that traveled with his enlisted father, mother, and siblings to each new location of assignment. In 1966, while going to high school in Coraopolis, PA, Bob was drafted into the Army to serve in Vietnam as a medical specialist until his honorable discharge in 1968. After his service in Vietnam, Bob made his way from Pennsylvania to Arizona where he worked at the Arizona Biltmore an met the love of his life, Margaret (Cochrane) Townsend. Bob and Margaret were united in Marriage on December 9, 1970, in Winterhaven, CA and were married 50 years before Margaret’s passing in 2021. During their marriage they had their only daughter, Ronda.
Bob was an industrial electrician for Arizona Public Service, in Joseph City, AZ, for 20 years and went to work for Nevada Energy, in Moapa, NV for another 20 years before officially retiring and moving to Sierra Vista, AZ to be closer to his daughter, Ronda and her husband Michael Yost. He enjoyed reading, spending time with family and friends as well as listening to the stories of the “old soldiers” of his generation wherever he met them. He came from a family of sports enthusiasts and would shush anyone that tried to talk during a football or baseball game, especially if it was an Arizona or Pennsylvania team.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers; a nephew, and his wife Margaret.
Bob is survived by his daughter, Ronda and son-in-law, Michael Yost; sister Marianne Cramer and her husband Mike; sister-in-law, Dorie Gregory; nieces, Debra Dolan, and Liz Nation; nephew, Jason Gregory; four great-nieces and nephews; as well as too many friends and those he considered family to count.
Funeral services will be held at the Southern Arizona Veterans Cemetery Chapel on December 1, 2023, at 9:30 am with Committal with Military Honors at 10:00 am.
Bob left a lifelong impression on many and will be forever missed. He has joined his loving wife, Margaret, to be wrapped in the everlasting love of the Lord.
