Richard Littlefield Obituary

Richard (Dick) Gale Littlefield, a 30-year resident of Sierra Vista, passed away on October 8, 2023.

He was born 15 September 1939 in Hagerman, New Mexico to Edward Littlefield and Loise Duncan.

Richard graduated from Encino High School, Encino NM, 1956, and attended the School of Mines, Socorro, NM until he enlisted into the Air Force in November 1958.

He married Patricia G. Littlefield on 27 December 1963 and spent the next 15 years together traveling from Air Force Base to Air Force Base. Richard Served in the Air Force for 21 years in the following locations: Lackland AFB, San Antonio, TX; Keesler AFB, Biloxi, MS; Goodfellow AFB, San Angelo (3 tours), Tx; Peshawar, Pakistan; RAF Kirknewton, Scottland; Elmendorf AFB Anchorage, AK; Clark AFB, Philippines; Misawa AFB, Misawa, Japan; Kelly AFB, San Antonio, TX. He retired in 1981 and then moved to Woodbridge, VA to begin his civilian career which took him and his wife from Virginia to California and finally ending in Sierra Vista, AZ where he once again retired after several years of working at Ft. Huachuca Army Base. Richard participated in several Air Force Reunion groups for the Security Service Command such as USAFSS Roll Call, the main group: Misawa Project and RAF Kirknewton. With each of these reunion groups, he would be accompanied by his wife Patricia and his daughter Jeanette Sheldon, traveling to a variety of states and going on a couple of cruises.

Richard was first ordained as a deacon at Calvary Baptist Church in Misawa Japan and continued serving as a deacon in Rainbow Hills Baptist Church, San Antonio, TX and First Baptist Church in Woodbridge, VA. As a faithful servant of Christ, he served on a variety of committees and taught Sunday School in each church that he was a member of as well as Village Meadows Baptist Church in Sierra Vista, AZ.

Richard is survived by his daughter, Norma Jeanette (Jim) Sheldon of Adolphus, Kentucky; son, Victor Lee (Lorena) of Sierra Vista, AZ; 2 grandchildren; a great grandson; his sister-in-law and brother-in-law Corrine (Sammy) Priest of Greenville, NC and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

A celebration of life service is scheduled for 10:00 am on November 18, 2023, at the Village Meadows Baptist Church sanctuary. The address for Village Meadows Baptist Church is 1407 El Camino Real, Sierra Vista, AZ 85635.

The military interment will be at the Southern Arizona Veterans Memorial Cemetery on November 20, 2023, at 10:00 a.m.
