Natalia Escobar Ortega
December 1, 1929 - September 21, 2025
Our dearest lovely Mother passed away Sunday night, September 21st at 8:35 p.m. - with Peace and surrounded by Love. Though we have shed many tears of sadness, we have celebrated her death, as we have celebrated her life - with laughter and joy - in honor of her fun-loving spirit. A beautiful death for a beautiful life for a beautiful woman. Natalia was preceded in death by her husband Ruben (1986) and her son Ruben Francisco (2019). She is survived by her children: Natalie (Stephen), Esteban (Suzanne), Barbara (Patrick), and Patricia (Mark); her grandchildren: Allison (Adam), Naomi (Tom), Haley and Benjamin and her great-grandson Emmett.
We will always be grateful to Natalia’s caregivers, Jiovanni Contreras and his wife Reyna, for the 10 years of loving care they have given to our Mother. For what could have been a painful ordeal with her Alzheimer’s, Jio and Reyna helped us navigate this journey that was to become a sweet and tender experience. She wasn’t just a patient. Their care was a personal endeavor. They called themselves the ‘3 Musketeers’. Jio and Reyna, you are our family.
Our sister-in-law, Suzanne, wrote this letter to our Mother shortly before her passing. It has become a tribute: “Thank you for so many years of your love and kindness. Your sweet soul has touched everyone whoever met you. Always cheerful, always generous, and always the life of the party! We will raise a glass in your honor. Though we will miss you terribly, we will always remember and celebrate the good times. Vaya con Dios. Your family releases you, knowing you are in God’s good care and surrounded by pure love. Missing you already. Loving you forever...”
