Milan Mike Mazak, Jr. of Frisco, Texas, devoted husband, father, grandfather and
great grandfather passed away at age 79 on September 01, 2025. He was born
January 10, 1946 in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Milan Mike Mazak, Sr. and Virginia Mae
(DeFriese) Mazak.
His wife Sandy was the love of his life; they were married for 40 years. He leaves
behind his children, sons David, Paul, Mike III and daughter Cheryl; three
grandchildren, Matthew Van Jaarsveld, Briana (Otanez) Apodaca and Erika
Otanez, and four great grandchildren, Evelyn, Mateo and Elena Apodaca and
Maverick Rayne Pringle.
Mike served 20 years in the United States Army, retiring as a First Sergeant,
followed by a second career with Electronic Data Systems (EDS), retiring as an
Infrastructure Specialist Senior.
Mike loved the Lord. His faith grew deeper while attending Church at the Creek.
He always knew that God was with him through everything. He loved to sing to
the Lord with all his heart, soul and mind. There would be a peaceful look on his
face, as if he felt he was in the very presence of God when he worshipped in song.
Mike believed in giving back to the community for the many blessings he received
from God. In retirement, he became more active in his church, facilitating a men's
Bible study, serving as the church photographer and helping to start a satellite
church in Frisco, Texas. He and his wife enjoyed spending time at The Grove, the
Frisco Senior Center. He volunteered countless numbers of hours at the Senior
Center, serving on the Advisory Council, driving members to and from their cancer
treatment appointments, repairing members' computers, programming their cell
phones and GPS devices, and picking up baked goods from various grocery stores
on a weekly basis for the Senior Center members and Frisco Family Services
needy families. Mike also donated platelets and plasma, contributing more than 37
gallons since 1998.
Mike will be buried at the Southern Arizona Veterans Memorial Cemetery in
Sierra Vista, Arizona. A Celebration of Life reception will be held at Church at the
Creek on October 25, 2025, in McKinney, Texas. In lieu of flowers, the family
requests that donations be made in his name to Church at the Creek.
