Melvin Eugene Emeigh

Melvin E. Emeigh was born August 31, 1936, and died in Sierra Vista at the age of 88, on February 1, 2025.

He and his wife of 65 years, Elaine Emeigh, moved to Arizona in retirement, in 2006. Mel served in the U.S. Army 1956-1958. He received his undergraduate degree from Hastings College in 1963 and in 1970 received a degree from the Colorado Graduate School of Banking. After a 25 year banking career, he spent 18 years in the insurance business, all in Denver, CO. Mel was a trustee emeritus of Doane University.

He is survived by his wife and daughter, Karen Emeigh, also of Sierra Vista. His brother, Don Emeigh, lives in Lincoln, NE.

Mel was preceded in death by his son, Paul, who died of brain cancer at the age of 22.

Mel was an avid fly fisherman and enjoyed tennis, biking, birding, and golf in retirement. He volunteered for the Nature Conservancy and CANTER. His willingness to always be kind and helpful to others with his winsome smile will be missed by his loving family and friends.
