Mary Jane Dugie Obituary

Mary Jane Dugie
July 15, 1948 ~ July 13, 2026

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Mary Jane Dugie at the age of 77. She passed away on Monday July 13, 2026. Mary Jane Dugie was born on July 15, 1948, in Bisbee, Arizona, to William James Palmer and Ruth Marie Berhman Palmer. She was a lifelong resident of Bisbee, Arizona. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. Her family was the center of her life.

Mary Jane was proud to be born and raised in Bisbee. She graduated from Bisbee High School in 1966. She then went on to work at Fort Huachuca and married Patrick Dugie in 1970. Together they had two daughters. She was a stay-at-home mom for many years and then returned to the workplace where she retired after 23 years of service. She loved to garden and spend time outdoors. In her younger years, she enjoyed hunting and camping. She loved singing and was a member of St. Patrick’s Church where she sang in the choir.

Her grandchildren were her pride and joy. She loved baking cookies, watching movies with them and having sleepovers when they were young. She spoiled them every chance she had. As they grew older, she supported them in every possible aspect of life and was very proud of all the accomplishments, big and small. Mary Jane enjoyed cooking and baking and sharing her favorite recipes. Mary Jane’s kindness, warmth, and devotion to her family and friends will be remembered always. She was known for her quiet and caring personality. Her generous spirit always allowed her to lend a hand to anyone in need. Mary Jane was humble, gentle and sincere and will always be remembered with love.

She is survived by her husband Patrick J. Dugie; daughters and sons-in-law Paula and Kelly Mart of Bisbee Arizona, and Dawn and Robert Smith of Hanceville, Alabama; grandchildren Kelsey, Alesha, and Ceali; and great-grandson Justin. She also leaves behind her brothers & sisters-in-law Thomas and Donna Palmer of Silver City, New Mexico, and William and Rose Palmer of Tucson, Arizona, along with many relatives and friends who will deeply miss her.

The families would like to extend its heartfelt gratitude to the Staff of Haven Rehabilitation center of Sierra Vista for all their dedication and support. Your kindness will never be forgotten!
