The tall and very handsome Martin McCord is now in the arms of our Lord and is finally at peace and out of pain.
Kids used to ask their parents if Martin was a giant! He had a brilliant career as a Computer Scientist for over 30 years. When I asked him about physics and calculus, he said that physics and calculus were fun. I told him he was crazy!
I was lucky to be married to him for almost 43 years, and I knew I was well-loved by a very kind and gentle man.
He loved backpacking, basketball, and was a jogger, and even ran a couple of marathons.
He had a voracious appetite for reading both fiction and non-fiction, and I often used him as my spell checker. He was tender-hearted and loved all our hairy children. He was a father to many kitties and yellow labradors, and he helped me raise four litters of a total of 32 yellow labs! That was an exciting time in our lives.
We had a lot of fun hiking many big mountains, and we took some great cruises. During our adventurous lives, our most wonderful activity was laughing together.
I will have celebration of his life at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, a donation to Tunnel to Towers and/or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital would be very nice.
