Marilyn Jane Bredeson
January 30, 1935 - May 26, 2024
Marilyn J. Bredeson passed away on Sunday, May 26 at the age of 89 at her home in Sierra Vista, Arizona. She entered the presence of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ almost exactly 6 years after her husband Clemens.
Marilyn was born January 30, 1935, in Monroe, Michigan, the daughter of Fred and Ruth Winkelmann. She married Clemens Bredeson in June 1955 at Zion Lutheran Church in Monroe
Together they had four children (all of whom survive her): James, Karin, Joel, and Richard. They also fostered two sons who also survive, John and Robert Janes.
Marilyn was a Lutheran school teacher and found her identity as a teacher to be very important to her. She served schools in Michigan and Iowa. She was a very devout Christian and committed Lutheran, staying active in church her whole life. She was extremely active in Overeaters Anonymous serving locally, regionally, and nationally in various capacities. She was also active in the Village Association in her community almost to the very end. She was most happy when helping someone.
Marilyn is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren scattered across 6 states and 2 other countries. She is also survived by her sister, Constance Schomaker.
Memorial services will be held on Saturday, June 1, 2024 from 2-4pm at the Sierra Vista Mobile Home Village Club House, 733 S Deer Creek Lane, Sierra Vista, Arizona.
