Mesa, Arizona - Margaret Marie (Murphy) Allen, 80, of Sierra Vista passed away Thursday, January 25, 2023, with her family at her side.

Margaret, the daughter of the late John F. and Mary E. (Manning) Murphy was born in Waltham, Massachusetts on April 28, 1942. As a military child, Marge lived in Japan and Massachusetts before moving to Fort Huachuca where her father retired from the U.S. Army.

Marge began her career with the Department of the Army at Fort Huachuca as a typist, then retired as a Budget Analyst in 2003. Marge was a communicant of St. Andrew the Apostle Catholic Church, a member of the Sierra Vista VFW Women’s Auxiliary and the American Legion Post 52.

Her most important asset was her Irish Heritage which Margaret was extremely proud of. For those that knew Marge, knew she was a fan of Micky Mouse, NASCAR, John Wayne and of course Miller Lite. She was known as “Memaw” to her seven grandkids and two great grandkids who she loved bragging about. Marge spent most of her time sewing, quilting, watching The Price is Right and hanging out with friends.

In addition to her parents, Marge was predeceased by her grandson, James Allen, her brother, Francis Murphy, her sister, Therese Murphy, and her beloved dog Remshot.

She is survived by her children, Jack J. Allen Jr. and fiancé Shelly Johnson, Theresa A. Allen and her husband Andrew, Vernon P. Allen and fiancé Michelle Smith, Kelli M. Odom and her husband Jeremy; two brothers, Patrick Murphy and Thomas Murphy; six grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Marge will be laid to rest at Cochise Memory Gardens in Sierra Vista during a private ceremony.
