Marcia Ann Boczar
June 10, 1954 – August 19, 2025
With heavy hearts we announce the passing of Marcia Ann Boczar, a beloved Aunt, Sister, Educator, Mentor, and Friend.
Born in Buffalo, New York to Agnes and Alfred Boczar, Marcia earned her degree in Special Education from Erie Community College and the State University of New York at Buffalo. She began her career at Buffalo Children’s Hospital, working for seven years in the rehabilitation department, where she supported children with special needs.
In 1983, after visiting Sierra Vista AZ, Marcia decided to make it her home, joining her sister and family there. Marcia took a position with Sierra Vista Public Schools and dedicated 37 Years to the district. In her time with Sierra Vista Public Schools, she worked at the Special Services Center, Buena High School, and Pueblo del Sol Elementary At Buena High School, Marcia and her colleagues developed programs to help students gain sufficiency and prepare for independent living –a mission close to her heart.
Marcia was involved with the C.A.N.T.E.R. organization, an equine therapeutic riding program for Special Needs Students and Veterans. Every week students go to the ranch and receive a fun and personal riding session adhering to their Individualized Education Plan.
Marcia is survived by her sister, Kathy Preble, her brothers, Danny Boczar, John Boczar and his wife Melanie, her cherished Kenny, to whom she was a long-term loving caretaker and second Mother. Her nieces Kristin Preble, Stephenie Jackson and K.D. Preble, Nephews Michael Boczar, Jeffery Boczar and his wife Davina. Great Nieces and Nephews, Holdyn Jackson, Paige Marcy, Memphis, Veda and Chey Boczar.
She preceded in death by her Mother, Father, and Brother Greg Boczar.
Though Marcia may no longer be with us in body, Marcia’s Spirit lives on in the countless lives she touched. Her kindness and generosity, and unwavering dedication to others will be remembered. We take comfort in knowing that she is now in the presence of the Lord --and able to FINALLY ABLE TO SEE. . . She was “Aunt Marcia” to many, and a source of light and love to all who knew her.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday September 21, 2025, at 2:00pm 3300 San Xavier in Sierra Vista, AZ.
