It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Leo Anthony Nozicka, a devoted family man, dedicated leader, and cherished friend, who left this world to find eternal peace. Leo passed away surrounded by his loved ones, after a courageous battle with Parkinson's and Lewy Body Dementia.
Born with a spirit of service and a drive to make meaningful contributions, Leo dedicated his life to leading and helping others. His journey of service began with the United States Air Force, where he exemplified dedication and honor. After his service, he ventured into the world of business, embracing roles that highlighted his innate leadership and commitment to community. Leo was a proud small business owner, and his managerial skills and charismatic leadership were warmly felt as a store manager at Montgomery Ward, Receiving Manager at K-Mart, and store manager at Dollar General.
Leo's passions extended beyond his career. The sight of his beloved Nebraska Cornhuskers gracing the football field brought him immense joy every season. Music was a constant in his life, echoing the rhythm of his heart, and his Harley Davidson was more than a machine; it was a conduit for freedom and adventure.
Although Parkinson's and Lewy Body Dementia cast a shadow over the twilight years of his life, Leo's courage and resilience shined through, inspiring all who were blessed to know him. The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to the Veterans Administration for their steadfast support and care during his journey.
In celebrating Leo's life, we choose to reminisce about the laughter, the wisdom, and the love he generously shared. He was more than the achievements he accomplished. Leo is survived by his wife, Jane Nozicka; son, Brad Nozicka; daughter Kari Pelton (Ron Pelton); brothers, sisters, friends, and all those whose lives he touched. He will be deeply missed. Rest in peace, Leo Anthony Nozicka. Your memory will forever be our guiding light. “There’s a special place in heaven for the owner of a bike.”
