Jovita C. Silvas December 15, 1947 – August 14, 2025
Jovita C. Silvas, 77, of Roswell, New Mexico, resident of Sierra Vista, AZ passed away peacefully, surrounded by family on August 14, 2025.
She was born on December 15, 1947, in Ojinaga, Chihuahua, Mexico, to Jacobo Carrillo and Concepción Rodríguez.
Jovita was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She lived her life with a generous heart, always caring for others and offering help to anyone in need. Her kindness, strength, and selflessness touched everyone she met.
She married her beloved husband, Juan L. Silvas, with whom she shared many years of joy before his passing.
She is survived by her children: Andrea E. Sanchez, Ernest Silvas (Yvette), Sharon Tavarez, and Robert Silvas (Lucy). She was a proud grandmother to Jeannette Moreno (Jesus), Maria Muñoz, Javier Sanchez (Angel), James Sanchez (Miriam), Adreanna Sanchez (Jacob), Priscilla Hernandez (Steven), Andrea Ramirez (Darius), Stephanie Allen (Kristen Allen), Brandon Silvas, Daniella Silvas, Monical Madel (Joseph), Chuy Natera (Rachel), Selena Ureta (Noe), Juan J. Silvas, Robert Jacob Silvas, and Robert J. Silvas (Amillaly). Her legacy continues through her 30 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
Jovita is also survived by her sisters Magdalena Carillo, Gregoria Madrid, and Celia Dominguez, and her brother Martin Carrillo, as well as many nieces and nephews who loved her dearly.
She was preceded in death by her husband Juan L. Silvas; grandson Ernest “Gordo” Silvas; great-grandson Andrew Moreno; siblings Jesús Carrillo, Alfonso Carrillo, and Paz Carrillo; and her parents Jacobo Carrillo and Concepción Rodríguez.
Jovita will be remembered for her warm heart, strength, and unwavering devotion to her family. Her home was always a place of comfort, laughter, and love, and she touched the lives of all who knew her.
