Joe T McGee

Joe T. McGee, a dedicated home-building contractor for 45+ years and a compassionate soul, passed away on November 30, 2025, in Tucson, Arizona. He was 78 years old.

Born on March 21, 1947, in Miami, Florida, Joe brought a strong work ethic and generous spirit to everything he did. For the past 25 years, he has made his home in Cochise County, Arizona, where he has built not just houses but lasting relationships through his company, Elk Country Construction.  His work left a tangible legacy across the neighborhoods shaped by his craftsmanship and care.

 Joe is remembered by his wife, Cheryl McGee; his son Frank Valdez and his daughter-in-law, Shauna Valdez; his son Ben Valdez and his daughter-in-law, Beverly Valdez; his son Mike Valdez; his son Steven Mount, and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

 He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Marty McGee, who played a significant role in shaping his values and upbringing. Joe is also preceded by his mother, Florence McGee; his brother, Roland (Ronnie) McGee; and his daughter, Tina McGee.

 Joe’s life was one of purpose, service, and generosity.  He was measured not only by the homes he built but also by the lives he uplifted along the way. May his memory bring comfort to those who knew him and continue to inspire acts of kindness in his honor.
