Jane Eleanor Kanaley

Jane Eleanor Kanaley, age 71, passed away at her home in Sierra Vista, AZ on November 14, 2023, surrounded by her family, after a long battle with cancer.

She was born on June 22nd, 1952, in Providence, Rhode Island, to Harold and Shirley Kanaley.

Jane was a devout Irish Catholic and US Army Veteran. She joined the Women's Army Corp at just 22 years old and dedicated her life to her career as a Military Intelligence NCO with the United States Army. She attended basic training at Ft. Jackson, SC, in August 1974. Through her 25 years of distinguished service, she was stationed at Fitzsimons Army Medical Center in Aurora, CO; Tripler Army Medical Center in Oahu, Hawaii; Ft. Huachuca, AZ, Hanau, Germany; Ft. Ord, CA, South Korea; and lastly, The Pentagon. In her spare time, she loved to travel, was an avid reader, and enjoyed watching Westerns, Dancing with the Stars, and The Voice. She also loved music, with Motown, Elvis, and Alabama being her favorites.

She was a beloved mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She will be dearly missed.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Jimmy Kanaley, and her grandson, Devin Whitfield.

She is survived by her four children: Sheila Whitfield, Chris Reynolds, Rachelle Rayford (Les), and Ryan Kanaley (Catalina); brother John Kanaley; nieces Kristina and Colleen and nephew Jonathan; her nine grandchildren, Brittney, Jasmine, Cameron, Jalen, Dadrian, Alyssa, Sierra, Justin, Everleigh; and nine great-grandchildren; Devin Jr, Travonte, Zayden, Samiyah, Joliana, Mason, Kash, Quincy and Tatum.

Funeral Services will be held, Friday, November 24, 2023, at Hatfield Funeral Home, 830 S Hwy 92, Sierra Vista, AZ. Military Honors will be rendered at 3:00 pm. The recital of the Rosary will be at 3:30 pm. Memorial Service will be at 4:00 pm with a time of visitation from 5-7 pm.
