Irma Lydia Tapia, age 90, passed away on April 20, 2025 in Sierra Vista Arizona. Irma was born in El Tigre, Sonora, Mexico to Jose and Sofia Petra Morales.
She is survived by her six children, 15 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.
Irma was preceded in death by her husband, Manuel "Manny" Tapia who passed away in 2007. At the time of Manny's death, they had been married for 50 years. Manny and Irma moved to Sierra Vista in 1972 where Irma was a full time stay at home mother and wife.
Irma enjoyed cooking, always ready to prepare a delicious meal for family and friends. She enjoyed watching baseball and Novellas on television. Irma had many friends she loved socializing with while enjoying a cup of coffee and cookies.
Even though dementia severely affected Irma’s mental capacity during the last few months of her life, she would still pray to Heavenly Father often and express her gratitude for His love.
The family would like to express heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Healing Hearts Assisted Living and Valor Hospice of Sierra Vista for their loving care during our mother’s last days.
At Irma’s request, the Family will have a private memorial service and burial.
