Ingrid Riffle Obituary

Ingrid Riffle
April 10, 1947 - August 27, 2025

Ingrid Riffle 78,of Sierra Vista passed away early morning, Wednesday, August  27, 2025, surrounded by love, care and support with family members accompanying her at her bedside.

Ingrid was born in Herborn, Germany on April 10,1947 and remained a resident of that town until she met the one true love of her life, Jackie Burton Riffle,to whom she got married to in December of 1968 in Sierra Vista, Arizona.

Ingrid gave birth to her first son, Jesse (Butch), in July of 1970, in Bangkok Thailand, where Jackie was stationed in the Army. Ingrid was a devoted wife and mother, she followed her husband EVERYWHERE to which he was assigned by the military.

Whether it be Thailand, Korea, east coast of the United States, Ft Huachuca or Germany, she was always ready for the adjustment in assignment. She traveled to and from, and made her family's home between Ft Huachuca and Germany on several occasions throughout her husbands career. During one of his assignments to Germany in February of  1975, Ingrid gave birth to her second son, Christopher, in the same hometown she was born.

Ingrid would accompany Jackie with their two boys back to Sierra Vista in 1980, where he retired from the military and upon their arrival, she would spend the next 45 years residing permanently, traveling back to Germany on occasion for visits to family.

Early in the 80s, Ingrid spent several years working at the Deutsches Eck,before taking an employment opportunity with the Sierra Vista Public School District as a Food Service Professional at the Sierra Vista Middle School, retiring as Cafeteria Manager in 2007.

Ingrid was deeply dedicated and loyal to her husband and family. Jackie was truly her absolute one and only, and when an illness took his life in 1987, Ingrid never laid eyes on another. Ingrid was dealt another blow with the passing of her oldest son, Jesse in 1999 at the age of 28. Through it all,Ingrid stayed strong and spent the next few years assisting to raise her oldest granddaughter, Danielle.

Throughout her life, Ingrid enjoyed, among other things, activities such as crocheting, making blankets to give as gifts to her grandchildren and friends. Assembling Jigsaw puzzles, laying out in the sun while reading her Romanne, she was so proud to show off her Arizona tan when she visited family in Germany. On occasion she also enjoyed going to the Casino, taking in the slot machines or sitting in on a round of Bingo.

Ingrid kept a very neat, clean appearance inside of her home and took pride with the compliments she would regularly receive concerning the appearance of her yard, which she worked so hard to keep up, all the way to the end of her ability in life.

Ingrid was a VERY VERY generous soul, ALWAYS putting the wants, needs and desires of others before hers. Always brainstorming what she could give as gifts for her Grand and Great Grandchildren and friends, regularly expressing the thought "I don't know what to get them."  always thinking of those she loved and cared about while she was out shopping.Whether it was a edible treat such as a hand of bananas,a bunch of grapes, a gallon of milk or a box of cereal,an article of clothing, or a scent warmer for the home, she ALWAYS sought out something for others. She was such a generous and thoughtful lady.

Ingrid, in her hospitable German spirit, always made Sundays special by preparing a traditional German meal for her family.Whether it be Schnitzel, Rouladen with Spaetzle or Kloẞ, Goulash,Bratwurst, Cabbage rolls along with potatoes fried with bacon and onions or something that was outside the realm of German cuisine, such as her Chili or Lasagna, or even something simple such as her tasty Cream Beef, she took great enjoyment in providing such tasty meals for others. Her time, dedication and pride taken to prepare those meals were purely something to be treasured.

Ingrid is survived by her beloved son "Herbie" (Chris) Riffle; three granddaughters, Danielle (David) Greenberg, Aubree Jett and Jessica Riffle; two grandsons, Shawn Beam-Riffle and Dakota Riffle: and five great-grandchildren, Addisyn and Jaxon Greenberg, Rhayne, Eckoe and Barry Jett.

Ingrid is proceed in death by her beloved husband, Jackie (1987) and her son, Jesse (1999).

By all that knew Ingrid, she will be deeply missed, but we should all take comfort and find peace knowing that, though she was a courageous fighter and put on a strong outwardly appearance against the discomfort she constantly endured for such a long time, she is no longer in the complex and difficult health circumstance she was in upon her passing. Rest easy Mom, It's gonna be ok.
