Hyman Leroy Faulkner was born on March 8,1933 to Benjamin Franklin Faulkner and Sue Mae Faulkner. He was 92 at his time of his death on May 8, 2025.
He was an incredible husband, father, son, brother, uncle and friend. By most he was known as Leroy but only a few called him Monk.
He was preceded in death by his 7 siblings (3 sisters, and 4 brothers) and his daughter Missy.
Leroy was not afraid of taking the road less traveled. He left Pitt County, North Carolina as a young man, joining the United States Army and moving out west. He served an exemplary career in Air Defense Artillery as a top radar expert and retired as a Chief Warrant Officer.
He was a devoted husband of 69 years to Viola and an incredible father to their special daughter Missy. He had a love of nature and enjoyed hunting and camping. Leroy, Viola and Missy spent most of their free time on camping adventures around the country. He enjoyed listening to opera and classical music. He was a special Uncle that gave wise advice and guidance when needed. He was loved and will be missed.
