Gertrude Elizabeth (Zwink) Balentine

Gertrude (Gertie) Elizabeth Balentine, age 89, of Sierra Vista, Arizona, passed away on November 9, 2025. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, James Balentine.

Gertie is survived by her three sons, David, Steven, and Gary; her daughters-in-law, Sandy and Nancy; her grandchildren, Melissa, Dalton, William, Kyle, Mackenzie, and Kiera; and her four great-grandchildren, all of whom she loved dearly.

While raising her children, Gertie worked as a Teacher’s Aide and studied Real Estate before beginning a long career managing rental properties in the Sierra Vista area. She was devoted to her family, loved to travel, and was proud to call Sierra Vista home for more than 58 years.

Gertie will be remembered for her generous and thoughtful spirit. She delighted in giving small gifts—chocolates, calendars, and other tokens of kindness—to friends and family, always finding ways to brighten someone’s day. Her warmth, kindness, and steady presence will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, December 13, 2025 @ 1PM, at Faith Presbyterian Church, 2053 E Choctaw Dr, Sierra Vista.
