George Clayton Box,73, of Sierra Vista, Arizona, passed away at Sierra Vista, Arizona on May 3, 2025.

George was born  in Ottumwa, Iowa, to Elmer Leroy and Frances Marie (Hill) Box .  He was raise in Ottumwa and graduated from Ottumwa High School . George served in the Army as an Administrative Specialist.  He ended his military career with the rank of SGT on December 11, 1978.  George's act of service didn't end with the military. He continued to serve his fellow man by becoming a law enforcement officer for the Iowa Department of Transportation until his retirement.

George enjoyed reading western novels, watching old western shows, driving through the mountains and exploring ghost towns and historic sites.

George is survived by his loving children, Daniel Box, Brian Box, Heather Graham, Tabitha Klopp; siblings, Jean and Jane. 

He was preceded in death by his father Elmer, mother Marie, brother Earl and sister Judith.

Graveside services with military honors will be held at the Young Cemetery - 48412 AZ-288 Young, Arizona 85554, on Friday, May 9, 2025 at 1:00pm.
