Francene Kay Pohl
September 1, 1950 - January 3, 2025
Francene "Fran" Pohl of Sierra Vista, AZ, passed away on Friday, January 3, 2025, at the age of 74 at home with family and close friends, following an extended stay at Banner University Medical Center in Tucson, AZ.
Fran was born on September 1, 1950, in Adrian, MI, the daughter of the late Ed and Helen (Wotring) Willnow. She graduated from Central Michigan University with a bachelor's degree in Physical Education, where she met and married her husband and best friend of 53 years, Terry Pohl of Mt. Pleasant, MI.
Fran and Terry eventually settled in Sierra Vista, AZ, where they owned and operated Globetrotter Travel, Inc. Fran enjoyed traveling the world and was an avid equestrienne. One of her most memorable horseback rides was over the beautiful Andalusian mountain range of Spain.
Fran was a strong woman of Christian faith whose kindness, generosity, and love profoundly touched everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. She is survived by her husband, Terry Pohl, her children, Ryan (Kelly) Pohl and Stacey (Brian) Gold, her sister, Marcia (David) Marsett, and six amazing grandchildren.
The family would like to extend a very heartfelt thank you to Dr. Ramesh Vedula, M.D., and the entire staff at Cochise Oncology.
A private ceremony for family and friends will be held later this year in Mt. Pleasant, MI, with cremation burial at Sacred Heart Parish Calvary Cemetery.
