Jo was a surrogate mother to several with her lavish love and faith. To meet her was to love her almost instantly with her warm and sincere smile and caring heart.
Her career of entertaining with voice and keyboard took her across the country and abroad. She had a repertoire of over 2,000 songs she sang and played without written music- entertaining President Reagan and working with many celebrities.
In her later life she became the Director of numerous Retirement Communities turning around to them to full occupancy with her warmth, hands on patients, and her music of course.
The last few years Jo was confined to her home and caregivers were honored and blessed to part of her care.
She will be sorely missed.
“She may be gone, but her melody will live on in our hearts and the rhythm of our memories.”
She is gone
You can shed tears
that she is gone,
Or you can smile
because she lived.
You can close your
eyes and pray that
she'll come back,
Or you can open
your eyes and see all
that she left.
Your heart can be
empty because you
can't see her,
Or you can be full of the love you
shared.
You can turn your back on tomorrow
and live yesterday
Or you can be
happy for tomorrow
because of yesterday.
You can remember
her and only that
she's gone,
Or you can cherish
her memory and let it
live on.
You can cry and
close your mind,
Be empty and turn
your back.
Or you can do what
she'd want,
Smile, open your
eyes, love and go on.
