Elizabeth "Liz" Joan Ragatz
October 9, 1935 - August 29, 2024
Elizabeth J. Ragatz, 88, went to be with our Lord on Thursday, August 29, 2024, surrounded by her six children at her home in Sierra Vista, Arizona.
Elizabeth was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. Elizabeth was creative, artistic, reliable, always positive, and an endless source of love and support to all who knew her. She was unselfish, and extremely devoted and dedicated to her family and her friends. As someone once penned, "People will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel". Elizabeth's legacy is a testament to this truth, as she left a mark of love and kindness on the hearts of everyone she touched.
Elizabeth was born in Elba Nebraska along with her two brothers, Stanley and Jerry, and a sister, Irene into the loving home of Victor and Domicella (Krzycki) Kaminski. Her life was full of cherished moments, among which was time spent with her family and her dogs and cats.
Elizabeth has resided in Sierra Vista for the past 48 years and was a Real Estate Broker owning Ragatz Western Ventures.
Elizabeth was the wife of William T. Ragatz Jr. and with him they traveled the world in various military assignments until 1976 when they arrived at Fort Huachuca, Arizona and settled in Sierra Vista.
She is survived by her six children, Patrick, Deborah, James, Tammie, Pamela, and William (Traci); brother, Stanley; sister, Irene; as well as grandchildren Alisha, Melissa, Kaylyn, Tara, Jordan, William, and Madeline; and great grandchildren Blake Jr, Korbyn, and Callum.
Visitation for Elizabeth will be held on Monday, September 9, 2024, from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at the Hatfield Funeral Home, 830 S HWY 92, Sierra Vista, Arizona. Friends and family are asked to meet on Tuesday, September 10, 2024, at St Andrews the Apostle Roman Catholic Church, 800 Taylor Dr, Sierra Vista, Arizona for the recitation of the Rosary at 10:00 AM followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 AM. Interment will follow at the Post Cemetery, on Ft. Huachuca, Arizona at 12:00 Noon.
