Sierra Vista- Elizabeth J. (McGonigle) Liedtke, 76, of Sierra Vista passed away peacefully on Thursday morning, March 16, 2023 surrounded by her family at her home. Elizabeth, a daughter of the late Harold R. and Elizabeth E. (Travers) McGonigle and was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on November 26, 1946.

She was raised in Philadelphia, she and graduated from Cardinal Dougherty High School. Elizabeth received her Bachelor's degree from Holy Family University and her Master's degree from Arizona State University. Elizabeth taught elementary English for 15 years at San Carlos Apache Reservation in Globe and then as a substitute teacher in Glendale.    

She has resided in Sierra Vista for the past 6 months and was a member of Thunder Mountain Church.

She is survived by her husband Ernest F. Liedtke; five children, Gina Adams, Cheryl Liedtke, Michelle Liedtke, Justin Liedtke, and Noah Liedtke; a sister, Jean Aitzen; and four grandchildren.

Family and friends are asked to meet on Monday, March 20, 2023 at 11:30 am at the Southern Arizona Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1300 Buffalo Soldier Trail, Sierra Vista for funeral services for Elizabeth at 12:00 pm. Burial will follow in the Southern Arizona Veterans Memorial Cemetery.

Hatfield Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
