Dorothy E. Short, 90 

Dorothy Short, a resident of Hereford, AZ for 29 years passed away peacefully on January 18th at the age of 90. She was born February 12, 1931 to Zack and Kathleen Pierce in La Mesa, California. 

On March 14th 1950 she married Gene Short, later moving North to a ranch in Los Alamos, California for his work in the welding supply business. After raising 2 sons, Dorothy began a professional career as a security specialist for Lockheed-Martin at Vandenberg Air Force Base, retiring in May of 1990. 

After retirement, Gene and Dorothy moved to Hereford, AZ in 1992 to be closer to family. 

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, Zack and Kathleen, husband Gene and sister Flo Berning. 

She is survived by her sons Steve (Sparkle) of Sierra Vista and David (Zana) of Canfield OH, grandsons Michael, Adam, Bruce, Jacob and 8 great-grandchildren with 1 more due to arrive in March. 

A private family service with be held at a later date.
