Donald MacPhail Obituary

On April 3, 2024, our dear Donald John MacPhail, passed away, due to complications following a triple bypass surgery.

Don was born August 20th, 1951 in Paterson, New Jersey, to parents Donald and Marguerite (Leddkin) MacPhail. He attended Hanover Park Regional High School in Whippany, graduating in 1969. There he enjoyed football, baseball, and was an avid photographer, even helping build the dark room for his high school.

In 1973 Don enlisted in the Army, and found his calling on the Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Team. He deployed many places, but Australia and Germany were his favorites.

In 1998 Don moved from New Jersey to Phoenix, Arizona, where he met his late wife, Stephanie Greco. They married on September 20th, 2003. Together they opened Master Touch Contracting, LLC. They worked out of their home doing what they loved; designing and remodeling homes. Don lost his beloved wife on January 16, 2014 to lung cancer.

In 2020 Don moved to Hereford, AZ to be close to his son Alex and his family. There he enjoyed watching his granddaughter’s learn how to ride bikes, ride horses and grow into young ladies. He spent many hours in the shop helping Alex with projects and enjoying a beer together.

Don is survived by his sisters, Pat and Linda, sons Matthew (Amanda), Alexander (Danielle), and Ian, grandchildren Sean (Morgan), Kiera, Caidyn, Eliana and Adaline and great grandchild, River. Don was Proceeded in death by his wife Stephanie, father Donald and mother Marguerite.

Services will be held at Southern Arizona Memorial Cemetery on May 13th at 11am. Celebration of life will be held at Alex’s home after the services.
