Dean Rozell Bailey

March 27, 1940 – June 19,2025

Dean Rozell Bailey, 85, passed away peacefully. He was born March 27, 1940, in Priest River, Idaho, to George and Eileen Bailey.

Dean is survived by his brother, Dennis Bailey, and two sisters, Virginia Evenson and Anita David. He leaves behind his daughters, Deborah Golson and Dena Edmondson, nine grandchildren: Ricky, Jennifer, Cameron, Anthony, Calvin, Jaclyn, Jasmine, Lattrell, and Autumn, and seven great-grandchildren: Jared, Dominic, Christian, Logan, Caleb, Khaleesi, and Trinity. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Dean graduated from Priest River High School in 1958 and proudly served his country as Sergeant First Class in the United States Army from 1959 to 1980 with the Engineering Battalion. During his distinguished 21-year military career, he earned numerous commendations including the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal with 60 devices, Civilian Action Honor Medal, six overseas bars, Republic of Vietnam Cross of Gallantry with Palm, and Good Conduct Medal (5th Award).

Following his military service, Dean worked for the State of Alaska Department of Transportation on the Dalton Highway road maintenance crew as a heavy equipment operator from 1981 until his retirement.

Dean was passionate about the outdoors and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and trapping. He was an avid motorcycle enthusiast who owned several Harley-Davidson motorcycles and traveled extensively throughout the United States, frequently attending events in Sturgis and Daytona Beach for Bike Week. During his travels, he fell in love with Arizona and chose to settle in Sierra Vista after retirement.

Dean will be remembered as a devoted family man, decorated veteran, and adventurous spirit who lived life to the fullest. His legacy of service, love for family, and zest for life will continue to inspire all who knew him.
