Darla Jean DiMurro passed away at the age of 61 on February 12, 2025 in Tucson, AZ following complications from Leukemia.
Darla was born on April 23, 1963 in Kingston, NY to John and Cathleen Mazzuca and was raised in a beautiful home in the Catskill Mountain region of New York.
She met her husband Paul when both were in high school, and they were married in 1981. Darla was a quick learner and proficient at several jobs while traveling the world with her family as Paul's military assignments changed. The family settled in Sierra Vista, AZ in 1997. Darla eventually became branch manager for a tax filing services agency, where she was loved and respected as a colleague by many.
Darla was a committed mother and wife, raising 3 strong children who now fondly carry her in their hearts and memories. She had a contagious smile and an easy going energy that left anyone feeling comfortable and at home with her. She enjoyed reading poolside, doing puzzles and other games with her grandkids, and visiting fairs and festivals to find knick knacks and food. Darla was selfless, loving, and accepting. True to her nature, she stayed strong in her fight with cancer until the very end.
Darla is survived by her children, Tony DiMurro, Brian DiMurro (Skyler), and Miranda Hagadorn (Scott); her doted-on grandchildren, Ian, Olivia, and Elijah; her siblings Lynette Tobey (Adam), Shawn Mazzuca; and nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her beloved husband Paul.
For those that would like to make a tribute, the family respectfully ask that in lieu of flowers or other gifts, a donation is made in Darla's name to the Leukemia Research Foundation or in Paul's name to the Alzheimer's Association.
