Sierra Vista-Daniel J. Hernandez, 72 of Sierra Vista passed away peacefully on Saturday afternoon, January 21, 2023 at Banner University Medical Center, Tucson.

Daniel was a son of the late Gregorio and Maria I. (Arendall) Hernandez and was born in Coro, Venezuela on September 25, 1950.

Daniel served his country with the United States Army and he attained the rank of Master Sergeant. He also served as a pastor at his local church and while serving in the Army.

He is survived by his wife Siomara M. (Sierra) Hernandez; four children, five brothers, a sister, 18 grandchildren, and a great grandchild.

A visiting hour will be held on Thursday January 26, 2023 from 4:00 to 5:00 pm at the Hatfield Funeral Home, 830 South Highway 92 Sierra Vista. Funeral services will follow the visiting hour at 5:00 pm.

Friends are asked to meet on Friday, January 27, 2023 between 11:30 and 11:40 at the Southern Arizona Veterans Memorial Cemetery 1300 Buffalo Soldier Trail Sierra Vista for Military Honors to be held in the Chapel at 12 Noon.
