Corbet Ray Schultz

On April 16 th , Corbet Ray Schultz, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away at the
age of 83 years young in Tucson, Arizona. He always preferred to be called “Ray”. He was born in
Crawford, Indiana to Hubert Schultz and Belvia Harris. Ray joined the U.S. Army in 1962 and served in the
Vietnam War. He was stationed in Germany, where he met his wife, Marie. They married in 1965 in
Germany and raised four children, Donald, John, Ruby, and Tammy. Ray retired from the U.S. Army as a
Staff Sargent in 1985 and made Sierra Vista, Arizona their home. They were later joined by Marie’s first
daughter, Mary-Ann, in 1990.
After retirement from the Army, Ray had several jobs over the years; Truly Nolen, Sierra Vista Pest
Control, Swanson Security, and even started his own landscaping business. He always found a way to
stay busy. His hobbies include hunting, fishing, being president multiple times with the
German/American Club and volunteering his services with the VFW.
Ray was known for his great stories, sense of humor, his love for country music, and his compassion for
helping fellow veterans. He leaves behind his wife of 57 years, four children, fourteen grandchildren, and
eighteen great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, one brother, one sister, his son
John, one granddaughter Joelle and one great grandson Skyler.
A small “Remembrance” service will be held on April 22 nd at 2pm at his local residence for friends and
family. Funeral services will be at a later date.
