Cindy Vennie Obituary

Cindy Kathleen Vennie

July 10, 1956 - September 13, 2020

Cindy Kathleen Vennie, age 64, passed away peacefully September 13, 2020 in her husband’s arms.

Cindy was born July 10, 1956, in San Bernardino, California to William and Cherry Duke. She was the middle child of three children. She was a loving sister to Shelley Duke Kuhn and Sue Duke Hayman.

Cindy graduated from Mount Miguel High School in San Diego, California. She served in the United States Army and achieved the rank of Specialist before leaving the service to raise her beautiful family. Cindy worked as a civil servant for almost 30 years.

She married Charles Morris Vennie on January 20, 1977. Cindy was wonderfully devoted to her two daughters: Carolyn and Jaclyn Vennie, and her grandchildren; Jalen Frazier and daughter in law Lydia, Hope Frazier, Faith Frazier, Jaheim Vennie, Janae Anglin and Jianna Vennie.

Cindy was known to have such a caring spirit. She always made those around her feel the love and happiness that she carried in her heart. Cindy always made sure to express and share the care that she had for those in her life. The impact that she has had on so many lives, has touched so many hearts and souls in ways that could never have been imagined. Her favorite place was Mission Beach. She loved to sit there and listen to the surf, smell the salty air, and enjoy the sand between her toes. She had strong work ethics and was sure to pass that on to her daughters.  She loved her work because it gave her a feeling of accomplishment and satisfaction. She also enjoyed going to the San Pedro river and loved shopping for her Coach purses and shoes. She had all the Marvel movies, she loved superheroes because she was a superhero as well! She could be very stubborn at times, but that is what made her strong and handled cancer gracefully, she always pushed through with a smile.

Cindy will always remain in our hearts, and always on our minds. Although she may be gone, she will not be forgotten. We know her mother Cherry was waiting for her with open arms when she passed.

~Psalm 34, 17-18: “The righteous cry out and the LORD hears them; he delivers them from all their troubles. The LORD is close to the broken hearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.”~ Let us give our pain, sorrows, and low spirits to the LORD, as we mourn through the loss of a beautiful soul and continue to blossom as individuals. May we remember Cindy as the loving and beautiful spirit that she was on this present Earth. Let us continue to live out the beautiful journey that Cindy herself has dreamt of living.
