Christiane Maria Gamponia died on 4 October 2024. She was born on 30 December 1939 in Schlesien, Germany to Parents Heinrich Zedler and Hedwig (Altman) Zedler. She was a dedicated US Army Spouse, traveling worldwide. She had been a resident of Sierra Vista, Arizona since 1978.

She is survived by husband Melvin M. Gamponia, sons Andreas and Brian Gamponia. Grandsons Kyle (Ashlyn) and Micah Gamponia. Great-Granddaughters Kairi and Maillie Gamponia.

Private services were held at the Southern Arizona Veteran's Memorial Cemetery on 11 October 2024. Funeral arrangements by Hatfield's Funeral Home.
