United States Customs Officer, Charles William Maples, 53, of Sierra Vista, passed away unexpectedly in his sleep on November 4, 2023.
Chuck was born on December 18, 1969 in Phoenix, Arizona. He was raised in Sierra Vista by his mother and father; Glo and Charles Maples. His father passed away when he was only ten years old.
He met the love of his life, Sherry in 1993, they dated for about a year before marrying in 1994. He also gained two young daughters in 1994, Stephanie and Sybil. He raised “the girls” as he referred to them as his own, for over 30 years.
He had a personality that was larger than life, there was not one room he walked in that people didn’t notice his presence.
He became a United States Customs Officer in 2003, he loved having the opportunity to protect his country.
Chuck is survived by his wife of 29 years, Sherry Maples, his daughters, Stephanie Kline (Roy Kline), and Sybil Smith (AJ Lyons), his grandchildren, Skylar, Rylee, and Emma Cline, and his mother, Glo Maples.
He will forever be missed by everyone who knew him.
Services are to be held at 1:00 pm on November 17, 2023, at Calvary Chapel, Sierra Vista. Reception to follow at Mimosas.
