Chang Hyon House

October 15, 1936 - March 5, 2021

Chang Hyon House (Choe), 84, of Sierra Vista, better known to her friends as "Katie," passed away in her home on March 5, 2021. Chang was born in the Republic of South Korea on October 15, 1936. She met her husband Charles E. House while he was serving in the United States Army. She moved to Sierra Vista in 1976.

Katie loved to garden and enjoyed cooking. Her friends in the community served as her family. While she may not have had any biological family in Arizona she had many beloved "Korean sisters."

On January 28, 2020, Chang lost the love of her life, Charles. Chang's family of friends here in Sierra Vista made sure to she had all of the assistance she needed after the passing of Charles. They helped take her to appointments, do house work if needed and even bring groceries. With the COVID pandemic, more precautions were taken amongst friends and their personal contact was limited.

Chang joins her husband Charles in a peaceful slumber.

Graveside services will be held at the Southern Arizona Veterans' Memorial Cemetery on Tuesday, March 16, 2021 at 10 AM. Those wishing to attend should arrive in the staging area at 930 AM and masks will be required.
