Carol Joan Taylor went home to be with the Lord on December 4, 2024, at the age of 87. She was born on August 9, 1937, in Bell, California to the late Walter and Mildred Orchard.
In 1953 Carol married the love of her life, Jim in Yuma, Arizona. Together they built a life and a home filled with love and laughter.
Carol was the definition of the quintessential homemaker. Her home was always tidy, the children were always happy and cared for, and homemade meals were always crafted with love. If you knew Carol you knew her love language was acts of service.
She was most at home in the kitchen and baking was something she loved to do. There wasn't a pie she couldn't make. If you made a request for your favorite kind you knew Carol would happily make one for you. She enjoyed cooking for her family and friends, hosting a barrage of dinner parties as she loved to play hostess and entertain. Her door and dinner table were always open to anyone wanting to join them.
She and her girlfriends had a special "Birthday Club" where they would meet up and make sure one another felt extra special on their birthday. Carol not only enjoyed spoiling her friends and family but she enjoyed her self-care days doing a little retail therapy with her sister going shopping and having their nails done.
While her children may be gown and out of the home, she never stopped sharing her love and spoiling those who graced her doorstep. Her tiniest little loves were her two Chihuahuas, "Ruby" and "Star."
Carol was preceded in death by her father, Walter James Orchard; her mother, Mildred Marie (Smith) Orchard; her brother, Ray Orchard; and her son, Jimmy Taylor.
She is survived by her devoted husband of 71 years, Jim Taylor; two children, Terry Taylor and Janet Wright; a sister, Sandy (John) Albee; and a brother, Eddie (Joanne) Ross. Eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren also survive.
