Billy Dale Shelton, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and servant of Christ, entered into his eternal rest on May 9, 2026 at the age of 89. A devout Christian, Billy lived his life guided by faith in Jesus, love, and service to others.
Born on June 28, 1936 in Dekalb Missouri, he was the oldest of 3 children born to Sonny and Margaret Shelton. Billy accepted Jesus as his Savior at the age of 25 and dedicated his life to following Christ’s example—leading his family with kindness, generosity, and unwavering faith.
Throughout his life, Billy was deeply involved in his church community, serving faithfully as Deacon, Sunday school teacher and Senior Adult Pastor. He found joy in sharing God’s Word and lending a helping hand to those in need. Billy is described as a light in this world and was spreading the Gospel until his dying breath.
He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Christina, Children Melissa(Michael) Frakes, Tracy(Randy) Sanders, grandchildren Joshua(Shelby) Frakes, Christina(Jarred) Caple, Susan(William) Rogers, Will Sanders, great-grandchildren, Sophia, Eve, Job, Kinsley, Eden, Myer, Charlie, Madeleine who will forever cherish his wisdom, laughter, and love of the Lord
Visitation will be held May 18, 2026 at Hatfield Funeral Home from 4:00-7:00. The celebration of Billy’s life will be held on May 19, 2026 from 9:30-11:00 at Village Meadows Baptist Church with Pastor Mark Pitts officiating. Burial will follow with military honors at Southern Arizona Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery. Friends and family are invited to gather in remembrance and thanksgiving for a life well-lived and a soul now at peace in Christ.
The Shelton family asks that you keep them in your prayers as they celebrate and remember a man whose life was wholly devoted to faith, family, service, and community. Billy’s, humility, and enduring love for others will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
