Barbara (Spring) Denniss, 89, passed away peacefully after a short illness. She was the beloved widow of William J. Denniss.
Born and raised in Bristol, Connecticut, Barbara carried her New England roots with her throughout her life. She later made her home in Sierra Vista, Arizona, where she spent the last 30 years building friendships, community, and countless cherished memories.
Barbara was a devoted mother to her three children, Lynn M. Ladutko (William), Traci L. Tomlinson (Steven), William M. Denniss (Sheri), and stepdaughter Sharon Denniss. She was also a proud grandmother to four grandchildren: Jared Witham (Courtney), Jenni-lyn Ladutko (Russ), Ashleigh Witham (Sam), and Willow Denniss as well as two step-grandchildren: Tawney Tomlinson and Luke Tomlinson.
She lived life with warmth, humor, and enthusiasm. Barbara loved dancing, knitting, and crocheting, and she never turned down an opportunity to travel or enjoy a comfortable hotel stay. She had a particular fondness for lobster and delighted in life's simple pleasures as much as its adventures.
Barbara worked as a banker during her professional life and remained active in her community as a member of the Sierra Vista Women's Club. A dedicated sports fan, she especially enjoyed watching the Arizona Diamondbacks, the Phoenix Suns, and UConn Women's Basketball.
Known for her lighthearted spirit, Barbara's family will fondly remember her annual-and never quite successful-attempt to cook the crescent rolls at Thanksgiving, a tradition that brought laughter to every holiday table.
Barbara will be remembered for her kindness, her sense of humor, and the love she shared so freely with her family and friends. She will be deeply missed and forever cherished.
A memorial service will be held at the Sierra Evangelical Lutheran Church on Saturday, March 28, 2026, at 1:00 pm. Memorial contributions may be made to Sierra Evangelical Church (101 N. Lenzer) or Casa de la Paz Hospice (49 N Coronado Drive, Suite C, Sierra Vista, Arizona 85635) in honor of Barbara.
