Allison Ann Baker, 83, went home to be with the Lord on March 30, 2026.
She was born on January 19, 1943, in Haverhill, Massachusetts to Albert and Doris DuFault, the middle of three children. Over the years, Allison filled many roles - daughter, sister, aunt, wife, mother, grandmother, and greatgrandmother, and she did each one with love, sharp wit, and a ready smile. She will be deeply missed by everyone who had the blessing of knowing her.
As a child, Allison moved with her family to Canoga Park, California, where she attended Canoga Park High School. Active in band and school clubs, she graduated at just 16 years old before heading off to community college - all while working at Green Thumb Nursery. It was there she met Allen Baker, beginning a lifelong partnership that would take them on many adventures. They married in 1963, shortly after Allen joined the Army, and began building their life together.
Allison embraced military life as she and Allen were stationed across the United States and in Germany. While in Georgia, they welcomed their first daughter, Lindy Ann. Five years later, their second daughter, Tiffany, was born at Fort Huachuca, Arizona.
During her years as an Army spouse, Allison held a variety of jobs, and after Allen retired at Fort Huachuca, she began a 26year career with the Department of the Army as a personnel assistant at CPOC. When she retired from government service, she happily stepped full-time into what may have been her favorite role yet - grandma, lovingly known as “Dadum.”
Being Dadum brought her endless joy. She loved watching her two grandsons grow up, build lives of their own, and become parents themselves. Her three greatgrandchildren became the light of her later years, and she delighted in every moment spent with them. Known for her big heart, Allison had a way of making everyone feel like family - so much so that many of her grandsons’ friends grew up calling her Dadum as well.
Allison was preceded in death by her parents, her siblings, her husband Allen, and her daughter Lindy. She is survived by her daughter Tiffany (Eddie) Taylor; her grandsons Austen (Kayla) Taylor and Jorden Taylor; and her three greatgrandchildren, Milo, Abby, and Elias. She loved her family deeply and was proud of each and every one of them. Her legacy lives on through them.
“Her children rise up and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her: ‘Many women have done excellently, but you surpass them all.’”
Proverbs 31:28–29
